Types of placements at the clinic

Observation placement

The observational placements are short-term (1 to 2 days). They are intended to educate students in different health programs about the roles and responsibilities of the various professionals and clinicians that form the interprofessional team.

Intervention placement

These placements are usually full-time and long-term (15 to 60 days). They focus on the planning and implementation of interprofessional care plans to meet the needs of individuals in one or of the target clientele. Intervention interns usually also participate in health promotion activities.

Health promotion placement

Placements in health promotion are often part-time and long-term (lasting 10 to 30 weeks). They target the planning and practical implementation of programs to meet the specific needs of certain population groups by taking into account the concepts of determinants of health and community participation.
