The Interprofessional Clinic, created in 2006, is the result of an initial collaboration between three schools from the Faculty of Health Sciences (School of Rehabilitation Sciences, School of Human Kinetics, School of Nursing), the Faculty of Medicine, “Consortium national de formation en santé” (CNFS), and several other health service partners in the Ottawa area, whose community members could benefit from the clinic’s services.
Many other partners have collaborated over the years, including the Interdisciplinary School of Health Sciences of the Faculty of Health Sciences, the social services program of the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Medicine, and Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant program of la Cité Collégiale.
Initially, the clinic was able to offer services free of charge to all of its clients thanks to the gracious financial support from the “Société santé en français” (Health Canada), “Consortium national de formation en santé” (CNFS), and HealthForceOntario (a joint initiative of the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities), as well as the Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion.
In 2017 the Clinic began a new chapter through a partnership between University of Ottawa Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Ottawa Health Services, and Perley Health to develop the clinic into its present form.
The Interprofessional Clinic at Perley Health is discontinuing some of its services as of December 23rd, 2022. This will affect services in Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy as well as some Physiotherapy. Affected clients that are either currently receiving services or on the wait list for services will receive a list of clinics offering similar services that can be contacted. Client files will remain in the possession of Perley Health for no less than 10 years. You can request that your file be sent to you or to another clinic by completing a release of information form.
To request this form, please contact the clinic at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the clinic at 613-526-7125.
Audiology services and The Stuttering Clinic will continue to accept referrals. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition process.
